What an amazing year! As we kicked off the Spirit of the Rockies Festival Friday, June 19, the candidates took the stage at Key City Theatre and absolutely knocked the audience’s socks off. We are so proud of all seven of our 2026 team members.
Congratulations to our 2026 Ambassador Team: Ambassador Kenzie Hert and Vice Ambassador Mia Milne. Congratulations as well to Talent Award winner Alice Teetaert for her incredible violin performance, Maisie Spowart on winning the 2Day FM Community Outreach Scholarship, and to Kenzie for winning the Community Awareness scholarship.
It was a fantastic night, and we would like to thank the sponsors, friends, dignitaries, families and out of town visitors who filled the theatre. The energy and encouragement was such a joy to hear and made the night one for all to remember.
We are a youth leadership program promoting personal development, community involvement and volunteerism.
The Cranbrook Youth Ambassador Program first started in 1965 and although it has grown and changed over the past nearly 60 years, it remains a program dedicated to providing life-skill and leadership training, while promoting community involvement and volunteerism.
The program is currently offered to young women in Grades 10 and 11 in Cranbrook. To learn more about the program and sessions offered, click the Our Program link or reach out to us via email and we would be happy to connect with you.
Promoting the City and Its Festival
One of the roles of our program is to promote the city, it’s spirit and it’s festival.
Our Youth Ambassador Team is involved in a range of community events, we participate in and support various charity events, and we promote the City and Spirit of the Rockies Festival in communites in BC, Alberta, and the US.

Learning new skills and gaining self-confidence
In six short months, you will gain self confidence and unlock new potential within yourself. There is training in everything from public speaking and resume writing to financial management and budgeting. You'll even learn about basic car care and change a tire or two. We are also big on being part of the community. From rolling up your sleeves with the kids at the Children’s Festival to raising money for our charity of choice, we have a lot of fun volunteering in the community.
Our focus on personal growth encourages candidates to discover your unique strengths, values, and aspirations. We also focus on community involvement, and you’ll learn about your community and the value of making a positive impact. It’s not all about work though! The most memorable lessons are learned in the company of friends and shared experiences. Building friendships and having a fun are part of our program as well.
Support for our Community
Our Youth Ambassadors are involved in a range of community events. From participating in the Coldest Night of the Year to raise funds for this important cause, to running the Creative Hair Tent at the Children’s Festival, participating in the Business Excellence Awards, serving at the Annual Senior’s Christmas Dinner and more, we are proud to be part of these amazing community events.
